For those of you who don’t know me from my other blogs, http://www.organichaircolorreview.com and http://www.organichairproductreview.com, I am Melanie Nickels, owner and founder of Raw Hair Organic Salon in Naples, Florida. It was the first organic / non-toxic salon in all of Southwest Florida. I am the founder / creator or Raw Hair Organics, a 100% natural, naturally derived / organic professional quality hair product line that is unmatched in performance. I do NOT own a skin care or make up company. However, in the spirit of full-disclosure, I am working at creating a line as of this writing. That being said, my integrity and honesty is very important to me, and you will never, EVER get a biased review from me. As stated above, I am editor of two other blogs / product review websites. I am a ranking member of the American Board of Certified Hair Colorists, as well as one of only 19 exam evaluators nationwide. I am the only organic educator in the organization. I have been a stylist / salon owner for approximately 16 years. I was internationally trained, part of Inter-Coiffure, and worked on the hit Broadway show “42nd Street”. I participate in continuing education on a regular basis, probably more than 95% of the salon professionals out there. I hold two college degrees: one in accounting and one in business. On top of all that, I’ve personally had problem skin my entire life, and it’s sensitive on top of that. Thus, my professional training aside, I’ve had a vast amount of hands-on experience with many, many skin care products and make up. That experience went hand-in-hand with the knowledge that I used and gained while creating my hair products line Raw Hair Organics. In my salon, the Raw Hair Organic Salon in Naples, Florida, I work every day with two amazing estheticians. I get first hand experience with products that are new to the market long before the public does. Between the three of us, you, as a subscriber to this blog, will get knowledge, feedback, experience, and hands-on real world commentary on mostly natural and organic skin care products and make up. I will also be reviewing MEN’S SKIN CARE products (using my husband, who is major-sensitive). The information I provide here will save you & your family MONEY. Lots of money. In the times that we live in, it can be really painful to spend $20-$30-$40 or much more on skin care products and make up, only to find out that it doesn’t work, or that you break out, or that you are allergic to it, etc. etc. In my blog, and with my reviews, I’m going to try and save you all of that personal trial & error, and SAVE YOU MONEY and time. I purchase all the items that I review with my own money. I don’t petition or ask manufactures to give me free product to review, as I think that ruins the integrity of the review and maybe even the reviewer. I’ve watched many Youtube reviews, and read many reviews on blogs and websites, and it’s almost impossible to find professional, unbiased reviews that are worth anything at all. I’m sorry, but I’ve wasted way too much time searching out Youtube video product reviews only to find out it’s a 14 year-old girl in her bedroom at her parents house that is doing the reviewing, and every third word is “Like” (I’m sure most of you know exactly what I’m talking about). That’s why I started this blog / review site and the other two that I edit as well.
